Hi,

Thanks for visiting us at Audio Out! As a recording engineer and founder of Audio Out, I have dedicated my career to producing quality music. My mission is to collaborate with growing and established musicians to make their visions come to reality.

My passion for music truly began at age 18, when I picked up my father’s Montana acoustic guitar and just wailed on it, making nothing but terrible sounds. Until this point, I’d listened to several genres of music, but had never learned much about music from my family. My parents were not fans of loud noises. So after this day, I would wait for them to go to bed before hiding in the walk-in closet in the family room and teaching myself how to play guitar for hours every night. About this time, I met a great friend, who was also learning guitar. We began to teach each other new guitar styles and songs from bands such as Ben Harper, The Ike Reilly Assassination, Jack Johnson, Catch 22 (a lot of ska music in general) and Eric Clapton. This was one of the best periods of my life, but it came to an end in August 2003 when he passed away in a fatal car accident. This devastating day would be the start of my journey toward music production.

At age 27, I entered Full Sail University with a burning passion for music but knowing I would spend a significant amount of time and money on this pursuit. Now, with my bachelor’s of science in music production and years of experience recording music under the direction of successful recording engineers, I am even more dedicated to building Audio Out. The decision has turned out to be one of the best decisions of my life as I learned music theory, composing, production, engineering and the skills needed to launch a successful business.

Along the way, I had the opportunity to hone my craft under the direction of Matt Mercado, owner of Sonic Palace recording studio in Chicago working on mostly rock and rap genres. In addition to gaining hands-on experience in engineering, I learned from Matt’s extensive knowledge from years of touring in Mind Bomb and working with bands in the 80s and early 90s including Judas Priest, Mötley Crüe, Kiss and Jackyl. Along the way, I also learned about running a successful business from successful businessman/entrepreneur Michael Michalowicz, businessman Robert Kiyosaki and learning music business at Full Sail University.

These experiences inspired me to open my own studio in Peru, Illinois, in March 2013. Since the opening of Audio Out, I have worked with amazing musicians and have earned trust and respect for their talent.

Cheers,
Jeff Grubich
